- I'm looking to buy a USR Courier "V.Everything" modem this week. I've
- finally set my mind on it and am upgrading from a Sportster (which served
- me extremely well I might add). The only thing is that I've chosen to go
- external on the Courier whereas my Sportster was Internal. UART was
- never an issue before, but has suddenly become one. Now, here's my
- $1000000 question:
-
- Should I make the investment in a Hayes ESP card or would a standard I/O
- card with a 16550 suffice? Would the ESP make much of a difference?
-
- Oh yeah, one other thing... I'm not dead-set on the Hayes ESP... It's
- just the only High Speed Serial Comm card I know of... Any better
- suggestions out there?
-
- Many thanks in advance,
- Ian
